Fersa Promotes Talent through Successful Participation in the euspen Talent Programme

At Fersa Bearings, we believe that nurturing young talent is crucial to driving innovation and maintaining leadership in the precision engineering industry. That’s why we were thrilled to participate in the 2025 euspen Talent Programme, a prestigious international competition designed to identify exceptional students in the fields of precision engineering and nanotechnology. The program allowed us to contribute to the development of the next generation of engineers by challenging them to find innovative solutions to real-world problems in our field.

Fersa’s Involvement in the Talent Programme

The euspen Talent Programme (formerly known as the euspen Challenge) is an international competition aimed at helping students build crucial skills such as team building, leadership, and interpersonal development, while offering them the chance to tackle challenging technical problems. Fersa was proud to collaborate with euspen on a unique challenge that focused on the development of a measurement process for the manufacturing line of tapered roller bearing inner rings.

Our involvement in the programme was driven by our commitment to fostering young talent and encouraging innovative solutions within the industry. The competition allowed students to showcase their technical expertise and their ability to work in teams, think creatively, and apply their knowledge to the development of cutting-edge engineering solutions.

The 2025 Challenge: A Milestone of Success

The 2025 euspen Talent Programme was structured in three stages, with Fersa Bearings playing a key role in setting the stage for future leaders:

Stage 1: The Virtual Challenge

Teams of students from all over the world participated in a virtual challenge to develop a solution for incorporating a measurement process into the manufacturing line of tapered roller bearing inner rings. This stage was an exciting test of their problem-solving skills and technical ingenuity.

Stage 2: Finalists’ Presentation

The top three teams from the virtual challenge were invited to the University of Zaragoza, Spain, to present their solutions. This was a pivotal moment where students had the opportunity to meet with Fersa experts and showcase their ideas. The winning team received a bursary to cover their travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs, while all three teams were awarded complimentary access to the 25th International Conference & Exhibition organized by euspen.

Stage 3: The Final Presentation

The final stage was held at the euspen international conference, where the top teams presented their final solutions in front of a global audience. Fersa Bearings’ involvement provided valuable insights into the application of precision engineering techniques and gave students the chance to interact with industry leaders, offering a unique networking experience.

Fersa’s Continued Commitment to Talent Development

By participating in the euspen Talent Programme, Fersa Bearings reinforced its dedication to investing in the future of the industry. Our involvement in the competition has provided valuable experiences for both the students and our own team, fostering collaboration between young engineers and seasoned professionals.

This initiative highlights Fersa’s commitment to supporting and empowering the next generation of engineers and innovators. It also serves as a reminder of the power of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

We are proud of our participation in the euspen Talent Programme and look forward to continuing to inspire and support young talent as we help shape the future of precision engineering. We encourage students to seize opportunities like this to challenge themselves and grow their skills, just as the participants in this year’s competition have done.

At Fersa, we know that talent is the key to innovation, and through programs like euspen, we are ensuring that the future of the industry remains bright and full of possibility.
